Many of us have at least once seen in the American movies people making the so called “speed dating” in some club or bar in order to find the person they would really like. As it is seen from the very title such dates mean that you are expected to find your second half in the shortest time possible.
This way of dating stands somewhere in between the two other variants of dating: online and offline dating, though some people also find a lot in common with blind dating, as you never know who you will meet one of these days. Anyway, such practice exists and, as it should be, there are numerous reasons for it.
First of all it is the inability of people to meet the potential halves in their everyday life because of the constant being busy. They find themselves more comfortable in the atmosphere where they can feel safe and calm. At the same time they can allow themselves to be rather straightforward as they have a definite aim and the people in the same club have it as well.
Second reason for applying for such dates is the age. It is clear that elderly people who feel and are lonely in their lives are unlikely to go out in the evenings in order to entertain like they used to do in their youth. Now they have different priorities and they have no wish and strength to entertain like this. But at the same time they do not want to be lonely anymore in their lives. The matter is that there are many of such people who are really interesting and unique by their nature and gathering all of them in just one place in order to introduce them to each other can be a great success among them.
Such dates help people know more about each other and make it clear for all of them who is who and what all of them are there for. It saves people from useless dates with strangers in unknown and unsafe places. Here every person is under a supervision of organizers who watch the whole process of communicating.
People of different statuses are not against to try this way of communication. Especially those ones that have recently divorced or feel unhappy and lonely can benefit a lot. It is not necessarily to seek for the second half of yours and marry him or her. You can simply find more good and real friends so your evenings will no longer be so boring and useless.
But surely young people prefer quite a different way of the process of acquaintance. They are more likely to use the Internet for this purpose. They consider speed dating to be something for those who are absolutely lonely and uninteresting, who just come to those meetings because they have no other opportunities for communicating in their life independently, I mean without somebody’s help. But in fact online dating hardly differs from speed dating. Here instead of a picture you see a real person, which is actually not bad.
