My Home

“My Home” page features the major options of your profile. It is the place where you can subscribe to the newsletter of the service and keep in touch with what is going on. Moreover, the page features the message control bars of the 3 sections (dating, relationship and intimate). You can manage the sent and received IM and mail messages, smiles and passes. At the same time each of the site’s sections offers to fill in a separate profile (i.e. one profile for Dating, the other for Intimate, for the sections serve different purposes thus the pictures and info might be different). Manage your pictures, videos and backstage. You can also find the subscription package update button (I will write about the pricing a little later)

Menus

The left menu features the most frequently used options which are divided into 3 groups: Subscription, My Lists and Search. From the menu you can access almost everything from your profile to IM history. It seems rather convenient and certainly adds to the site’s functionality.

Profile Promotion

When you sign up Lavalife offers to promote your profile. If you want your profile and photos on top of the search lists this option is what you need. The service even says that your photos might appear in print or television spots, but unfortunately they don’t give out any details, so to my mind it seems quite unlikely.

In order to create profile you have to sign up, upload a picture (which, according to the service, enhances your chances of being found) and fill in some personal info

Search

3 branches of the service (dating, relationship, intimate) offer a choice of thousands of users you can choose from. The search is organized by a great number of attributes from annual income and languages spoken to location and body type. The detailed search will most definitely help you find who you are looking for.

Make a contact

When you have found the individuals you want to contact, you upgrade the subscription plan and can send IM and e-mail messages. If you receive messages, you answer them for free.
